I was born in 1977 and am currently in my sophomore year of an astronomy degree after having been homeschooled for most of my childhood. During that time I did stuff like writing for a newspaper volunteer editorial board, taking karate lessons, stargazing and librarian-ing with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, running around in the woods, hanging around with ponies, swimming with dolphins, and watching space shuttle launches.

These days I spend a lot of time studying (I admit, not as much as I should), working as a data-gatherer and tour guide in an observatory and learning tai chi. I'm also trying to write a book in my spare time (but aren't we all?), and there's a violin in my closet waiting for me to take lessons.
